The Tarka Trail gives you traffic free cycling all the way from us to the end of the trail in meeth. Perfect for the whole family. We’ve plotted out notable stops on route as well as timings to give you a rough guide as to where you can head on your day out. Get in touch if your after alternative routes around devon, we are all local so full of knowledge as to the best routes to explore along the tarka trail and beyond. Along the Tarka trail the terrain is mostly smooth with it turning into some gravel as you head down past Torrington. From us at waterside bike hire, the most popular route is to head to Instow for some lunch (we highly recommend Johns Deli) before having a leisurely ride back towards us in Braunton. Looking for a ride a bit shorter? Us to Freminton is perfect for the little ones, not to forget you can stock up on coffee and food at the quay cafe while the kids play at the pirate ship park!

Finally, starting easter 2025 we will be offering a one way bike hire service so you can cycle along the trail ready for us to pick you up at the other end. Perfect for those wanting to join up the South west coastal path route.
